No Bad Days
The saying in Cabo is ‘No Bad Days’.
When we visited there last winter that really resonated with me. A “bad day” can consist of a lot of things, some of them are menial that we make more out of then we need to, and in these times I try to remind myself of this saying.
This picture is of the back of my Jeep. I also have one of these stickers on my laptop that I can see every time I open it as well as on the garage door and squat rack. If I’m thrown a curveball I always try to say “This is life’s way of testing me and how I react in this moment helps define me as a person”. If I am lucky enough to be out in the gym about to use the squat rack, my day can’t be that horrible.
The vibe that we put out to the world will also be the one that we attract. Negativity draws negativity and choosing to try and take on a situation with a different frame of mind will change your outlook on other things. Dwelling on small things creates more things to dwell on. Deciding whether you are having a “good day” or a “bad day” sets the tone for how the rest of the events will unfold. The power of your state of mind is so much greater than what people even realize!
Sometimes problems are only problems because people make them that way. If you can look at the incident and say “Could things be worse?” And the answer is yes then you have the opportunity of reminding yourself of all the awesome things you have in your life and turning it into a “good day”, or at least a moderately decent one.
And it’s ok to have that “bad day” from time to time but perpetually living as Eeyore with an “everything sucks” attitude not only effects you but the others around you. Keep your chin up, someday everything will make perfect sense and next month or next year that little thing that wrecked your day won’t even be a blip on the radar that we call life.
