Ingredients
- 6 Large apples
- 2 Tbsp Butter melted
- 2 Tbsp Brown sugar Truvia
- 1 Tbsp Ground cinnamon
- 1/2 Cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the apples in half and place each apple half flat side down.
-
Using a paring knife, create thin slices all the way across the apple making sure to stop slicing right before the bottom of the apple (so it stays together as one piece). Transfer the apple halves to the prepared baking sheet.
-
Lightly brush the apple tops with melted butter and sprinkle with a little bit of the brown sugar.
-
Bake until the apples are soft and caramelized, 23-25 minutes.
-
Remove from the oven. In a small bowl, combine the remaining melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and oats. Once the apple halves are cool enough to handle, spoon the mixture inside apple slits.
-
Return to oven and bake 10 minutes more.
-
Top each with a scoop of ice cream (I prefer Halo Top, Cool Whey, Good North or Breyer's Delight). Enjoy!
