The Misconception About Confidence
Confidence carries a misconception with it.
People get this distorted view of it tying it to “thinking you’re better than everyone else” when in reality it just means being more comfortable! It’s just wearing that bathing suit on the beach and not worrying about covering something up that you might not have liked. It’s someone catching that photo of you and not telling them to delete it, it’s living life and being in the moment instead of being worried about other things. It’s being the best version of yourself inside and out and knowing that. I wrote that to a client once, more often than not I see HUGE changes in peoples frame of mind and the progress with their health and weight loss are the bi-product of that. That being said you have to change your mind before your body will follow suit. Your mind will overcome any sort of potential you had to make changes if you are always filling it with negative self-talk.⠀
Ben Bergeron, who has trained and developed some of the world’s fittest athletes, tied the definition of confidence to competitive sports, “What confidence is has nothing to do with winning or the leaderboard. What confidence is is knowing that you giving your best effort is enough.” I think this carries over into other aspects of life too! I am not out there comparing myself to every other online health program but I AM confident in the effectiveness of my programs and that what I’m doing is helping people change their lives.⠀
Have you ever wondered who the people are who misconceive what confidence is? They’re the ones that are out in the world portraying that negative ju-ju that attracts more negative vibes. It’s the people who WISH they could be confident! Never feel bad for simply liking who you are, if more people could this world would be a pretty happy place. – Ashlyn
