Customizable Pizzas

There’s just something about pizza…am i right?

I enjoy pizza on the regular. Creating your own pizza is extremely versatile and can fit right into living a healthy lifestyle! The topping options are endless and even the base can be customized to fit your preferences and nutrition goals. Here I broke down some of my favourite flavours and ways to enjoy “build your own pizzas” with a few different options to fit your needs!

1. CHOOSE YOUR BASE:
Start your individual pizza off by choosing your desired base. Some options include:
-Whole wheat pitas (I like Byblos Bakery)
-Flat Out High Protein Wrap (or other Flat Out Wrap varieties)
-My Egg White Pizza crust recipe for a lower carb option
-Two Ingredient Pizza Dough: mix equal parts self-rising flour and non-fat plain Greek yogurt in a bowl until a dough forms. Spread evenly into a pizza shape on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

2. CHOOSE YOUR SAUCE
-Guys Sugar-Free BBQ sauce
-Light Alfredo sauce (I like PC Blue Menu Light Alfredo)
-Pizza sauce (or create your own by using plain tomato sauce and adding spices such as oregano and basil)

3. CHOOSE YOUR PROTEIN
Some of my favourite protein options include:
-Chicken
-Black forest ham
-Extra lean ground beef
-Shrimp

4. CHOOSE YOUR TOPPINGS 
-Mushrooms
-Peppers
-Onions
-Pineapple
-Arugula
-Spinach
-Olives
-Tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes
-Jalapeños

5. CHOOSE YOUR CHEESE
Top your pizza with your favourite cheese (choose lighter versions for lower fat options)
-Light mozzarella
-Light cheddar
-Goat cheese
-Feta
-Parmesan cheese

Need a bit of inspiration to get you going? Try some of my favourite combinations I enjoy when I create my own individual pizzas. 

Classic Pizza
Choose a whole wheat pita or Flat Out Wrap as your base and top with pizza sauce, sliced ham (or preferred meat), peppers, onions and shredded cheese.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza
Choose your preferred base and top it with Light Alfredo sauce, chicken, onions, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese.

BBQ Chicken Pizza
Choose your preferred base and spread Guys Sugar-Free BBQ sauce on top (or other sugar-free BBQ sauces). Top with chicken, spinach, peppers, onions and a mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza
On a whole wheat pita place my 5 Ingredient Buffalo Chicken and top with peppers, onions (any desired toppings) and cheese of choice.

Cheeseburger Pizza
Cook and season extra lean ground beef with taco seasoning and place on pizza base of choice. Top with tomatoes, shredded lettuce (do this at the end or it will get soggy from the cheese), pickles (optional), peppers and onions. Top with cheddar cheese and enjoy!

Greek Pizza
Spread tomato sauce on pizza base of choice. Top with shrimp, olives, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, and feta cheese.

*note: for lighter versions of the pizzas mentioned above, consider using light cheeses (such as reduced fat feta or light mozzarella cheese etc.)
