Skinny Christmas Morning Wife Saver
This is a take on a christmas favourite that my mom always made us for breakfast!
Make this recipe the night/day before, let stand in the fridge and serve the next morning.
Skinny Christmas Morning Wife Saver
Makes 7 Servings. Each Serving: 327 Calories; 34C/10F/22P
Ingredients
- 14 Slices Whole wheat bread, crusts removed (I used the Buttercup Brand but I think Silver Hills Little Big Bread would be great too!)
- 8 Slices Lean back bacon or ham (I used Freybe from Costco)
- 140 Grams Light cheddar cheese (I used 7 slices of Cracker Barrel)
- 1 Cup Egg whites
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Dry mustard powder
- 1/4 Cup Minced onion
- 1/4 Cup Finely chopped green pepper
- 3 Cups Skim milk
- Dash Tabasco or Franks Red Hot Sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire
- 2 Tbsp Butter, melted
Instructions
-
Spray a 9x13” pan with non-stick cooking spray and lay out 7 pieces of bread (I laid out 6 full slices and then cut one in half to fit at the end of the pan).
-
Lay slices of cheese and back bacon and then cover with the other 7 slices of bread. In a bowl mix together all of the other ingredients, except for the butter.
-
Cover and let stand overnight in the fridge. In the morning melt the butter and pour over top.
-
Bake uncovered for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Let set for 10 minutes before serving.
