Protein Poptarts

Homemade Protein Poptarts

Remember eating Poptarts or Pizza Pops as a kid? I recreated a macro friendly version that taste even more delicious and better yet, are good for you. You can experiment with different flavours too, the options are endless!

Protein Poptarts

Makes 2 Poptarts. Each Poptart: 325 Calories; 33C/6F/36P - 5 Fibre per serving

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes Mix
  • 1/2 Cup Plain Fat Free Greek Yogurt
  • 25 grams Black Forest Ham
  • 1/4 Cup Egg Whites
  • 15 grams Light Cheese

Instructions

  1. Fold the Kodiak Cakes Mix and Greek Yogurt together really well in a bowl and work it until it is completely mixed and formed into a ball (it will look like it's too dry but that's the way it should look).

  2. Spray your rolling pin with non-stick cooking spray and roll out until thin. Split in half and cut into 4 even squares for the top and bottom of your Poptarts.

  3. In a separate frying pan scramble your egg whites, ham and cheese until cooked. Split this into two servings and place onto two of the squares.

  4. Put your other squares on top and pinch around the edges to seal into a pocket.

  5. Bake for 8-10 mins at 350 degrees until desired golden brown colour is achieved. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

I want to try my next batch with egg whites, cream cheese and flavour god seasoning (seasoning available at Popeyes and Busted Barbell in Saskatoon - mention the Sweat Effect and receive 10% off your purchase). I think it will be delicious too!
